A lake in the Sahara
Lake Dayet Srji only fills up after the rains, sometimes for just a few months. When there's water, pink flamingos, ruddy shelducks and many migratory birds arrive: a very rare sight a few kilometres from the dunes.
We go early in the morning, when the birds are most active, and stay as long as it takes to watch them in silence.
