Frequently asked questions about travelling in Morocco
How can I book a tour?
Message us on WhatsApp or by email with your dates, the number of people and the tour you're interested in. We'll reply with a personalised quote and, once you're happy, we confirm the booking.
Can I customise the itinerary?
Yes. All our tours are private: you can change stops, length, type of accommodation and activities to suit your interests.
When is the best time to visit the Sahara desert?
The best months are October to April, with mild days and cool nights. In summer the days are very hot, so we organise excursions at sunrise and sunset; in winter desert nights can be cold.
How many days do I need to go from Marrakech to the desert?
Marrakech to Merzouga is about 9-10 hours by road across the High Atlas. That's why we recommend at least 3 days: the trip is more relaxed and you can visit Aït Ben Haddou and the Dadès and Todra valleys.
Do I need a visa for Morocco?
Citizens of the EU, the UK, the USA, Canada and Australia don't need a visa for tourist stays of up to 90 days: a valid passport is enough. Always check your government's latest travel advice before you go.
What currency is used in Morocco?
The currency is the Moroccan dirham (MAD). You can change money in Morocco or withdraw cash from ATMs in the cities; in villages and in the desert it's best to carry cash.
What should I pack for the desert?
Comfortable layers, a warm jacket for the evening, closed shoes, a hat or turban, sunglasses and sunscreen. For the night at the camp a small backpack is enough: your big suitcase stays in the vehicle.
Can I reach the desert camp without riding a camel?
Yes, we can take you to the camp by 4x4. The camel ride is a wonderful experience but optional.
What is included in the price?
Usually private transport with driver, accommodation, breakfasts and dinners. Each quote details exactly what is and isn't included.
Are the tours suitable for families with children?
Yes. We adapt the pace, stops and activities to the children's ages and choose family-friendly accommodation.
