Charming riads and kasbahs and, in the desert, comfortable Berber tents with an authentic atmosphere.
Options and supplement2 days: High Atlas, kasbahs and a night in the desert
The great dunes of Merzouga are too far for two days. Zagora, on the other hand, can be reached in a day and offers the same ritual: the sunset camel ride, dinner at camp and a sky full of stars.
The Zagora dunes are smaller than those of Erg Chebbi, we'll tell you that up front. But along the way you see the High Atlas, Aït Ben Haddou and the Draa valley, which alone are worth the trip.
Departure at 7:30 from your riad. We climb the High Atlas with stops in Berber villages and at the Tizi n'Tichka pass, then a walking visit of Aït Ben Haddou. After lunch we cross Ouarzazate and Jebel Bani to the Draa valley. At sunset, a camel ride to the camp, dinner and music around the fire (about 8 hours with stops).
Sunrise on the dunes, breakfast and back by camel. We drive up the Draa valley with a stop at the Agdz viewpoint and return to Marrakech over the High Atlas. Arrival in the evening.

If you only have 2 days, Zagora. If you can stay 3 days, Merzouga has much higher and more spectacular dunes.
About 7-8 hours each way, with plenty of stops. It's an intense but very scenic tour.
Yes, but bring warm clothes: there may be snow at the pass and the desert is cold at night.
